Tracom Services Ltd is introducing a new telemedicine service in the region. We are looking for suitable candidates to fill in the role of Business Unit Manager as per the details given below:

Position: Business Unit Manager – Telemedicine

Supervisor: Director – Business Development


The role involves supporting the company realize its vision in successfully introducing Telemedicine services in Kenya, and roll it out to other countries in Africa. Ideal candidate should have strong business development skills. Experience with startups or new business ventures is preferred. The job location is Nairobi, Kenya with travel to other locations within Kenya and outside the country as the geographical presence of the business expands

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with other stake holders to formulate a business development plan in support of the strategic plan for the Business Unit
  • Responsible for timely execution of the business development plan including opening up new markets as per laid down schedule
  • Establish the Unit’s value proposition and competitive differentiation to guide the business development team in approaching the market
  • Responsible for formulation and implementation of the business development budgets for the Unit
  • Responsible for acquiring service partners including doctors, pharmacies, laboratories, medical insurance companies etc.
  • Managing the sales process from lead generation, pipeline management up to contract execution
  • Involved in setting sales targets and necessary measures to be employed in monitoring progress
  • Undertake market segmentation to support efficiency in resource allocation and monitoring Return on Investment
  • Work with the marketing department to establish a marketing plan for creating awareness and demand for the service offered in the market(s)
  • Identifying, quantifying and advocating for opportunities that can be employed to improve the value of the service offered by the business


  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Business course
  • Highly successful sales professional with a track record of new business over a sustained period of time preferably within technology field
  • Experience/working knowledge in medical sales will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to obtain market intelligence supported by reliable data is needed
  • People management skills
  • Proven self-drive and tenacity
  • A critical thinker who is highly creative
