Role Profile:  Material Planner Supervisor

 Job summary:

 The main focus of this position is to coordinate handling of raw material for assembly operations. The role will maintain high levels of diligence, strictly adhering to and enforcing given instructions and safety requirements. The job holder will have a keen eye for proper stock keeping, and be able to ensure that proper documentation for receiving and issuing of stock is done.


  • Implement the production schedule.
  • Supervise Material Service operations.
  • Control CKD/ Production Material inventory in the Factory
  • Advice Logistics Dept on CKD movement
  • Issue delivery schedules to local suppliers
  • Receiving of CKD/ Production Material, unboxing and confirm that they conform to the packing list/ invoice. If there are missing parts take the necessary countermeasure.
  • Prepare the loading and offloading schedule
  • Arrange CKD and other material in the material service go-down.
  • Issue parts to AF as required.
  • Prepare, issue and maintain the Engine- and Frame-combination for daily production
  • Maintain the flow of work and the required documentation.
  • Ensure the smooth flow of the assembly process is not disrupted by damaged or missing parts.
  • Monitor the daily attendance.
  • Train the associates.
  • Maintain the Material service tools/ equipment inventory.
  • Control the production packaging waste.
  • Prepare Material Service production management documents, e.g. Parts Supply List, Safety Stock Control, and Process Layout.
  • Implement the approved production schedule.
  • Production Material inventory in the Factory
  • Control the Safety Stock
  • Prepare offloading and loading schedule
  • Prepare Material Service production management documents, e.g. Safety Stock List.
  • Maintain the Material Service tools and equipment
  • Lifting and Material Handling Equipment
  • Control the production packaging waste.
  • Ensure conformance with 5s (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)


  • Degree in supply chain or a Diploma, preferably but not restricted to Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • A course in Inventory, Stock or Supply Chain (Purchasing) Management would be an added advantage.
  • 3 – 4 years working experience in the automotive industry and/ or warehousing would be an added advantage.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Great analytical skills
  • Positive attitude.
  • Reliable, honest and be a person of high integrity.
  • Should have good Supervisory and Organizational skills.
  • Have people management abilities.
  • Able to train and guide sub-ordinates.
