Reports to the Internal Auditor & Senior Risk Compliance Officer

Overall Purpose of the Job: 

Responsible for supporting the audit department through efficient communication of risk policies and processes. Assist in the provision of hands-on development of risk models involving market, credit and operational risk; assure controls are operating effectively and provide research and analytical support.


  • Conducts and document compliance risk assessments for each function in the business
  • Monitors and track relevant operational risk activities including regular review and follow up of functional risk self-assessments at scheduled intervals
  • Coordinates with the audit department in the conduction of regular risk self-assessments schedules and action plans
  • Assists the internal auditor in the conduction of internal audits from time to time to test effectiveness of controls and systems
  • Aids in the tracking and enforcing of the closure of corrective actions arising from internal and external audits in liaison with the other departments
  • Communicate any new tools or technological approaches to measuring operational risks for the business
  • Assists in any special assignments and investigations as may be required by the management into any matter or activity affecting operating efficiency
  • Periodically assists the internal audit team with the revision of the compliance plan as new changes occur, with new expectations of examiners, modifications to laws and regulations and as the bank offers new products and services
  • Assists with the coordination of internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of departments
  • Helps in ensuring that the firm’s leadership and staff are trained on substantive legal topics that impact the firm
  • Assists in identification of opportunities for business process improvement through leveraging on technology and systems to support the risk management process in the organization
  • Participates in the preparation of reports and presentations outlining findings and providing recommendations on mitigating potential risks
  • Aids with the enumeration of appropriate quantitative and qualitative portfolio risk measures
  • Together with the internal auditor, reviews and provides recommendations/amendments on investment prospects and other proposals presented
  • Supports the preparation of quarterly reports on the risk assessment
  • Performs any duties as assigned by the Internal Audit Manager


  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance/Accounting/Banking or any business-related course
  • At least CPA Section 2
  • At least 1 years’ experience in accounting/finance/audit. Experience working for a financial institution will be an added advantage
  • Willingness and ability to grasp concepts fast
  • Attention to detail and very organized
  • Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously
