Job Description
To manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the construction project
Responsibilities
- Reviewing construction drawings and preparing quantities
- Takes part in the tendering process and ensure official documentations are captured
- Reviewing of all submitted bill of quantities
- Prepares reports, contracts, budgets, risk assessments and other documents
- Negotiate with external sub-contractors and suppliers
- Budget preparations and cash flow projections
- Preparation of financial models based on the bqcostings
- Negotiating contracts
- Documenting any design change and updating the budget
- Keep track of all the requisitions, goods received at the site and goods issued to contractors
- Attend site meetings and prepare minutes
- Feasibility studies
- Project valuations
- Projects re-evaluation
- Financial projections
- Contract preparations
- Project cost controls
- Final accounts
- Valuation reports
- Valuations and re-measurements
- Preparation of construction contracts (reviewed & approved by HoC& legal departments)
- Preparations of bills of quantities
- Sourcing construction materials
- Sourcing for quotations
- Payment for work done on site
- Interim Payment Certificat
- Requisitions
- Quality checks on submitted samples by contractors
- Technical and reporting training for Site managers
- Material control
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction engineering, management, or related field
- 2-3 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction experience, or related field
- Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to analyze financial records and apply data to improved results
- Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
- Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
- In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Numeracy
- A good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work in a team
- The ability to negotiate
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
