Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have;

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade C+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Bachelor’s degree in either Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (Supplies Management option) or Commerce (Supplies Management option) or its equivalent qualifications from recognized and accredited institution;

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Commerce plus a Diploma in Supply Chain Management or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution;
• Registration with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies or relevant recognized professional body; and Proficiency in computer applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

• Preparing statutory reports (Direct Procurements, Quarterly reports, Termination of Procurements);
• Monitoring contracts and vendor performance;
• Maintaining an effective stores management system;
• Secretary to the tender opening, processing, evaluation and disposal Committees;
• Carrying out expenditure analysis and preparation of exceptional reports;
• Managing of records of all procurement processes;
• Carrying out market surveys;
• Preparing disposal certificates and disposal reports; and
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Principal Supply Chain Officer.
