ROLE SUMMARY
To perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, primarily at the Line Station in Juba South Sudan and from the Base Station in Nairobi, in accordance with MAF approved standards, KCAA regulations, Aircraft manufacturers standards and ICAO regulations. Regional maintenance support may also be required to support  the maintenance of the MAF fleet at different locations in Africa.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide a professional aviation engineering service to customers by:
Š Inspecting, testing, disassembling, repairing, and reassembling (as necessary and within the scope of the
license and ratings held by the LAME) airframes, engines, and components according to the current
manufacturer’s data and MAF SOPs
Š Ensuring all work is in compliance with MAF SOP’s, national and international aviation maintenance
standards within the scope of the capability listing of the Approved Maintenance Organisation
Š Conducting all work in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and approved data, as appropriate
Š Completing all documentation in compliance with relevant MAF and national requirements
Š Submitting reports via the Defect Reporting System in communication with the Responsible Manager
Š Assisting in the planning of scheduled maintenance
Š Communicating any problems of legal compliance through the QSS system
Š Performing equipment and hangar maintenance as required
Š Ensuring the correct storage of spare parts and associated documentation at the Line Station and liaising
with the Stores Manager to ensure that Line Station stock levels are correct
To actively participate in the Quality and Safety Management Systems by:
Š Seeking opportunities for continual improvement
Š Cooperating with quality and safety audits as required
Š Using safe working practices including the use of PPE in compliance with local work safe legislation
Š Contributing to a positive safety culture and conducting all work in accordance with the quality and safety management system
Š Utilising the Quality and Safety reporting system
To support the effective performance, development, and training of the aviation maintenance team in co-ordination with the Head of Base Maintenance and Head of Line Maintenance by :
Š Working with trainees, AME’s and other maintenance staff to facilitate their effective performance through
appropriate monitoring and support
Š Supporting progress of any trainees with clear feedback, coaching, mentoring, or training, as appropriate
Š Ensuring the work of any AME or contractor under their oversight meets the organisational and international standards
To maintain and improve personal professional standards by:
Š Participating in and ensuring timely completion of CPD modules
Š Participating in MAF organised training events as required
Š Reviewing internally and externally published aviation safety and training material
To support the Aviation department and the organisation in its wider activities by:
Š Promoting a shared culture in MAF
Š Leading/participating in and working with projects teams as required
Š Establishing and maintaining a close working relationship with all members of the engineering team, locally
and regionally
Š Assisting in the maintenance and repair of aircraft in other programmes (other than your normal location)
Š Participating in regular team meetings and/or activities
To participate in the spiritual life of MAF by:
Š Attending corporate daily prayer meetings to hear about the work of MAF and to spend time in prayer and
worship with other staff members
Š Participating in spiritual sessions of prayer and biblical reflection within the team
Š Demonstrating commitment to the vision, mission, values and beliefs of MAF
Š Actively working and living in accordance with the evangelical Christian beliefs of MAF
Š Maintaining your own spiritual development
Other reasonable responsibilities as may be required by your line manager

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is accountable to the Head of Line Maintenance for performance.
Regular discussions and feedback from customers are the main means of assessing performance.

Education and Qualifications:

Secondary School Completion Certificate
Š Completion of approved aircraft maintenance engineer pre-employment course
Š KCAA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License with at least two type rating; PT6A series (TR),C208 Series (TR)

5 years of aircraft maintenance experience (canbe concurrent with obtaining license)
Š 2 years experience as a certifying engineer
Š Aptitude in verbal, non-verbal, numerical andmechanical reasoning
Š Human Factors in Aviation Maintenance
Š Health and Safety principles
