Our Client is looking for a professional Logistics Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of supplies and logistics operations.

A leading and busy events planning and management company that has resources and equipment to bring events from mere ideas to reality. The firm is involved in every aspect of planning and executions letting their clients focus on their core business.

The Logistics Manager is to be responsible for the overall supply chain management. Logistics Manager responsibilities include ordering, organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of event and office supplies.

The goal is to manage the entire order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Procurement andLogistics, BusinessAdministration, or any other related fields.
  • At least 5 years work experience in similar industry.
  • Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager.
  • Proficient in standard logistics software.
  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management.
  • Proficient with the Event Management System and Event registration tool used to manage registration and event logistics an added advantage.
  • Interpersonal skills – the ability to work well in a team, as well as to manager and motivate others
  • Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to think creatively
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Skills in data analysis, including working with electronic data
  • Time management ability
  • The ability to plan ahead and deal with unexpected changes
  • Working knowledge of Import Controls, Shipment, and Customs clearance.
  • Comfortable with prioritizing & managing multiple assignments.
  • Adept in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant logistics Software e.g. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Self-motivated, result oriented and ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve tough problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events.
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures in events management

Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, stores, transportation and customer services
  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Arrange warehouse, catalogue goods, plan routes and process shipments
  • Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures.
  • Develop systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs and general reports for the function.
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Hire, supervise, coach, train and evaluate technical and casual employees
  • Daily records of staff on duty
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Maintain metrics and analyse data to access performance and implement improvements
  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
  • Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys
  • Planning and negotiating technical difficulties
  • Liaising with and managing staff and shifts
  • Monitoring stock and managing waste
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met
  • Accompany technical staff on client sites to ensure safety measures are observed at all times
  • Prepare worker schedules
  • Ensure technical and casual workers follow safety rules
  • Prepare reports for management on daily basis on work done
  • Negotiate shipping(transport) and supplier costs and work to improve efficiency of the company’s supply chain.
  • Together with the stores person ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility grounds.
