Assistant Fisheries Officer III Job at the County Government of Kakamega

Job Group ‘H’ (8 POST)

This is the entry and training grade for Diploma holders. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Responsibilities

• Providing fisheries extension services; collecting and compiling fisheries statistical data; marinating fish farms and hatcheries;
• Participating in ensuring hygienic fish handling at fish landing sites, markets and farms; participating in Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) of fisheries resources and elementary water examination for signs of pollution;
• Assisting in the production and selection of fish seed and stocking, feeding and harvesting of fish ponds; and
• Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:-

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Have a Diploma in either Fisheries Management, Natural Resource Management or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
• Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C (Plain) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Have Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.
• Meet the requirements of Articles 10, 232 and Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

• Kenya Revenue Authority
• Higher Education Loans Board
• Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
• Criminal Investigation Department
