Non-Executive Board Member Vacancy: Microfinance (Nairobi)

Our Client is a leading non-deposit-taking Microfinance Institution located in Nairobi that offers credit facilities such as logbook loans, school Fees loans and asset finance at low-interest rates to SMEs.

Objective:

Our client wishes to engage a dynamic, versatile, highly driven, and result-oriented individual to Non-Executive Board Members who is in charge of advisory for the top management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide an independent view on the running of our business, governance, and boardroom best practice.
  • They oversee and constructively challenge management in its implementation of strategy within the Group’s system of governance and the risk appetite set by the Board.
  • Appointed to provide companies with advice and support.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Finance, Audit, Accounting, Insurance, Economics, Banking, Information Technology or Human Resources
  • Masters Degree is an added advantage
  • Solid Business/Commercial Experience, preferably-in lending, and financial reporting and internal control principles of financial management
  • Extensive Leadership and Management Experience
  • A successful track record in improving productivity, cost control, quality, and service
  • Provide evidence of compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Integrity and Ethics requirements i.e., a certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, clearance certificate from HELB, Tax compliance certificate from KRA, and a report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau.
