Responsible for preparing high quality pastry dishes according to standardized recipes.

Reporting Relationship: Project Coordinator

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reporting needed maintenance, faulty equipment or incidents to the Regional Supervisor/Project Coordinator immediately they are noticed.
  • Developing, designing or creating new ideas and items for pastry kitchen.
  • Coordinating with the Project Coordinator to procure food items for Tea Services.
  • Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment as per the user manual instructions.
  • Assisting in food production planning, record keeping and reporting as per the company’s standards.
  • Verifying that food storage units meet standards and are consistently well managed.
  • Consistently achieving high standards in presentation, composition and flavour for all pastry food items.
  • Monitoring the utilisation of food stocks, pastry ingredients and apportioning orders within budget.
  • Ensuring food and supply items are stored as per the prescribed standards.
  • Testing the quality of food items by ensuring they are fresh when purchased and delivered by a supplier.
  • Liaising with the suppliers for the replenishment of flour, cooking oil and pastry margarine.
  • Checking on the opening stock levels from the previous day which is incorporated into the actual days’ dishes prepared and reconciling with the food corner team to tally.
  • Keeping an updated record of the number of pastry dishes prepared against the food order.
  • Preparing and delivering fresh pastry dishes.
  • Tracking and monitoring the food stock movement in the kitchen.
  • Cleaning the kitchen working area and utensils.
  • Undertaking any other responsibility as may be assigned by the management.


  • A Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts in Pastry making, F&B or Food Production.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in preparing pastry dishes is highly desirable in a high volume food production or catering business.
  • Food handling certificate.
  • Extensive knowledge in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations.
  • Have a good visual sense for food and pastry presentation.
  • Good knowledge of different types of pastry dishes.
  • Pleasant and service oriented personality
