Rattan Direct & Lifestyle Furniture is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant who has experience of working in a retail business, predominantly ecommerce. You will need to be a team player and be eager to pitch in when required. You will have a high attention to detail and be able to multitask. You need to have had exposure to Chinese imports, stock, and transactional cash reconciliation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Multiple bank account and credit card imports, posting and reconciliation ensuring all items fully reconciled for month end
  • Posting supplier invoices for overheads and stock purchases
  • Allocating payment to invoices and keeping the purchase ledger clean
  • Setting up weekly supplier payment runs for UK suppliers
  • Dealing with Chinese suppliers and setting up international payments in weekly payment run
  • Intercompany recharges and postings
  • Handling staff expense claims
  • Completion of week KPI data
  • Assist with year-end audits
  • And any other duties assigned

Qualifications and requirements

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  • Ideally experience of Xero accounts package
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are key
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and VAT rules
