Summary

To Ensure the promotion of corporate brand and image of the Institute; development and implementation of communications policy and strategy; coordination of media events and publicity programmes; Overseeing customer care services; assess media activity in relation to the Institute and respond where appropriate;

Overseeing and Coordinating website content and updates; disseminate official communication of the Institute through press releases, newsletters, features, speeches, articles media supplements and documentaries; and organize exhibitions, open days, tours and competitions

Responsibilities

  • Implementing communication strategies for the Institute;
  • Coordinating the preparation of speeches, media briefs and Institute’s newsletters;
  • Sourcing for appropriate media to disseminate information on activities of the Institute;
  • Developing corporate materials and branding;
  • Preparing and placing electronic media infomercials;
  • Documenting the Institute’s events through video, photography and press cuttings; and
  • Promoting stakeholder relations.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Master’s degree in Communication, Public Relations or related field, or a professional qualification and affiliation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations or related field
  • Computer Skills in desktop publishing
  • Demonstrated professional competence and management capabilities as reflected in work performance and results

  • Demonstrated ability to make timely, fundamentally sound and quality decisions
  • Pertinent to research priorities, and identified research outcomes that impact on Kenyan people
