Job Title: Shift Production Supervisor

Location: Nairobi

Job Description

The production supervisor shall be in charge of all processes in production to ensure that the final product – meets the quality standards established by the company and meets the numbers required by the market.

Responsibilities

  • Takes stock numbers from the bread store while also confirming the loading numbers so as to create a production plan/schedule for the day
  • Confirms that all employees have reported for duty and marks the register
  • Confirms that all the machines are working as required from the operators based on handover report
  • Champions shift meeting at the beginning of the shift while ensuring any arising issues are dealt with or forwarded to the relevant persons
  • Starts the mixing process and shares the production plan/schedule with the flour store men, mixers as well as the machine operators on the production side
  • Oversees the production process by following up on performance of each stage of the process until the final product is ready – checks on the ingredients used to confirm they are correct while making any necessary changes, ensures the prescribed mixing time is observed, the correct weight of dough is fed into the process etc.
  • Training and guiding both the old and new employees
  • If any changes are necessary, re- allocates the employees as required
  • Writes up a production report – number of dough’s done, water used etc. while pointing out any issues or challenges experienced in the shift pertaining to the ingredients and process
  • Calculates yield based on packing and bread store information while comparing this with the ingredients used
  • Inputs required information in the system based on dough’s made and raw materials used per shift
  • Hands over the shift to the incoming supervisor
  • Any other duties deemed relevant by the management.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food Production, Baking Science and Technology, Food Science and Technology or Food Process Engineering.
  • 3 years similar experience – as a shift production supervisor
