Our client, in the hospitality industry and located in Nairobi is seeking to recruit qualified persons to fill the following positions:-

Position Title: Hotel Manager (1 Position)

Reporting to: Managing Director

Remuneration: Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience

Responsibilities

  • Providing high quality, innovative catering services to customers.
  • Manage the staff recruitment process to ensure that in it in accordance to the hotel’s human resource policy.
  • Ensuring a sustained positive brand position for the club both externally and in-house.
  • Nurturing a high performing and motivated team of club employees.
  • Manage the employee and industrial relations in liaison with the staff committee chairperson to ensure employee and industrial harmony in the work place.  
  • Authorize all payments to suppliers of goods and services rendered to the hotel.
  • Delivering the hotel’s mandate at optimal cost. The Hotel Manager is also expected to develop concepts that support the hotel’s financial sustainability.
  • Oversee the financial reporting which includes the daily revenue collection/Expenditure and turnover report and the monthly summaries and present to the directors monthly financial reports by the 7th day of each month
  • You will oversee and ensure remittance of statutory deductions from the company to the relevant government offices within the timelines set by the authorities concerned. The mandatory statutory deductions which must be remitted within the timely deadlines are the PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, VAT and Catering levy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience, of which three (3) should be at management level.
  • A professional of high integrity who is ready to take on a challenging assignment, champion change and deliver results.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills to develop and monitor budgets
  • Mature disposition: ability to work as a team member and independently depending on circumstances.
  • Knowledge in SPA Hotel Management System
  • Computer literate
