Responsibilities

• Training and advising farmers on matters related to Crop production, Land Development, planning & management of demonstration plots;
• Implementation of agricultural projects and programmes in the ward;
• Promoting collaboration in the implementation of projects and programmes in the ward;
• Capacity building, backstopping and community mobilization in the ward;
• Dissemination of agricultural information in the ward;
• Establishment and management of information desks in the wards;
• Promoting consultative forum with various stakeholders and collaborators within the ward;
• Organizing field days, demonstrations and tours;
• Mainstreaming of cross cutting issues in the ward;
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of agricultural extension services in the ward;
• In liaison with the ward development committee preparing work plans budgets; Preparation of periodic reports for the ward.

Qualifications

• A Degree in one of the following areas; Agricultural Education & Extension, Horticulture, Crop Technology, Agriculture, Sustainable Agriculture, Agriculture and Biotechnology, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Extension and Community Development
• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C or its equivalent
