Job description

The Pearl of Africa oil and Nut company is a farming and trading company that deals with export  of variety of agricultural products like macadamia nuts, avocado fruits, coffee, cocoa, soya beans,  cotton, kidney beans, vanilla, black tea, honey and essential oils like lemon grass, palmarosa,  eucalyptus and basil. 

The agricultural Marketing manager responsibilities include; tracking and analyzing the  performance of advertising campaigns, managing the marketing budget and ensuring that all  marketing material is in line with our brand identity, this should in turn reflect in successful closing  deals with international clients.  

He/she is primarily responsible to sell products to international buyers, negotiate contracts &  payment terms, arrange the transport of products, maintain sales records, manage inventory and  monitor product quality. You’re responsible for creating lasting customer relationships and  securing repeat orders. You must also ensure the products you sell are a good value and of high  quality for your customers. 

Ultimately, you will help us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range  of online and offline marketing channels. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about our company and drive qualified traffic to our front door
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels like content creation, content duration, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis 
  • Produce valuable and engaging content for our website and blog that attracts and converts our target groups
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors Prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds wisely
  • Oversee and approve marketing material, from website banners to hard copy brochures and case studies
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
  • Analyze consumer behavior and adjust email and advertising campaigns accordingly

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in AGRICULTURAL marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
  • Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets
  • A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement BSc/MSc degree in Marketing or related field
  • Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their  key buying criteria. 
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they  are positioned. 
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop  product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas. Understand and document our buyer’s process, including where they get information,  and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes  to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn 
  • Develop a marketing plan for the products you support in conjunction with our  marketing team, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing  customers and the acquisition of new customers. 
  • Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an  ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes. 
  • Plan the launches of net-new products and releases of existing products, and manage the  cross-functional implementation of the plan. 
  • Act as the primary thought leader for the products you support externally, including  speaking engagements and written works 
  • Versatile marketing experience with years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g.  delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and  market research) 
  • Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups, and a solid  writer. 
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross functional teams and third parties. Team player!
